Outdoor Living

We have lived in our current home for about 13 years now and ever since we moved in I have said the same thing……”this summer I’m going to fix up our porch so we can spend the summer lounging outside” and every year things happen, kids have activities, vacations call us away, and nothing happens with the porch!  So this year I am starting now to ensure that my porch/yard get a much needed upgrade before the warmer weather even gets here!

So we have a huge wrap around porch that I have wanted to do something with for some time now.  It’s a huge area that would be great for fun lounge area.  Right now it is just pretty plain!  I have not really done anything with it at all.  We do often sit out on the porch to relax in the spring/summer but I would love to build this into a great space for entertaining and a great place to hang out with the family and enjoy our summer nights.

The projects:

A fire pit

Seating

BBQ

Eating/Entertaining Area

Reading nook

Solution for the sound coming from the busy highway in front of our house

So I plan to update this post as I complete these projects.  So wish me luck!!

Update 1-Fire Pit

We have installed and completed our first project of the outdoor living challenge!  We went with a propane fire pit from Best Choice Products.  This actually helps us with two of our items because when you are not using it as a fire pit you can use it as a table.  It’s a nice metal piece that has a lot of surface area.  Runs on propane which I like, you don’t have to find wood to burn, you have a nice even fire, and it’s so easy to start it (just a push of a button). Now we have an awesome place to gather around the fire, roast marshmallows, make smores, and spend spring & summer nights together.

Disclaimer: I received this item complimentary or at a reduced price for my honest review. However, I only recommend products I truly love and use to my readers.

Here is a quick video and review of the fire pit!
