Gift the Joy of Reading with Story Box

storybox2

As I have mentioned my daughter loves to read and loves getting new books.  I recently found this great box subscription called Story Box that delivers new books to your doorstep every month.  Every month you will receive two new books as well as a parent guide with lots of great information.  Check out our unboxing video to see what came in our box:

You can choose between their board book package for infants to age 2 1/2 that features great board books or you can choose picture books and receive books more appropriate for kids ages 2 1/2 to 6.  My daughter is 7 and she really enjoyed the books we got in the picture book package.  Each box gives parents some tips on how to incorporate activities and learning into the process of reading.  The books are chosen by a speech-language pathologist and are carefully chosen.  One thing I love is that they use some of the proceeds to purchase books and other educational materials to benefit children with disabilities and children from low-income families.

Story Box makes a great holiday gift idea.  Giving the gift of reading is always a great choice for children, it’s a great way to foster a love of reading at a young age.  My daughter loves getting box subscriptions and gets so excited to get mail and get to open it knowing there will be fun new books inside.

You can learn more and subscribe on the Story Box Website.

Picture Keeper Makes a Great Stocking Stuffer This Holiday Season

picturekeeper1

I don’t know about you but I am always taking pictures on my phone.  I have hundreds of them on there of all the kids activities and special occasions.  Having a camera on my iPhone is awesome and makes taking pictures super easy and convenient.  The problem is that they go on my phone, sometimes I share them to Facebook and then that’s it.  Whenever my phone eventually dies or I upgrade all my pictures are just gone.  I don’t know how many times I have lost photos that I’ll never get back because my phone ate them or died on me.  So why am I telling you all this?  I found a solution called the Picture Keeper.  So the Picture Keeper connects directly to your iPhone products and allows you to backup your photos onto the USB drive.  You can then transfer them to other devices like an external hard drive or a computer.  It’s really easy and convenient and saves my pictures from getting deleted!

picturekeeper3

Here’s what makes Picture Keeper great:

  • Initial backup finds all of your pictures. Just click “Start Backup”.
  • Future backups only save newly added pictures.
  • When one Picture Keeper fills up, the next one picks up where the last left off.
  • Free software updates included.
  • SKIPS DUPLICATES! Free Print out of every duplicate photo file location.

You can find out more about Picture Keeper on their Website.
