I have so many goals for 2017. I have really gotten to a point that I want to regain control of several areas in my life. Most of these goals focus on health and living a healthy lifestyle. Things I am trying to work on include weight loss, mental well being, and adventurous living. I always look to resources for my goals and one of my favorite publishers is Ulysses Press. They have some great titles for each of these goals and more.
Cast Iron Paleo:
Cast Iron Paleo serves up 150 delectable recipes where the proteins and veggies are cooked together in the best pan in the kitchen. Featuring meals like Lemongrass Pork Sliders with Shredded Cabbage and Roasted Cauliflower with Serrano and Tomato, these recipes offer gourmet combinations open to all dietary specifications. Chapters arranged by protein source—from pork and beef to wild fish and plants— make it easy to build a meal around your tastes and dietary concerns.
This is one of my favorite new recipe books, I love the healthy recipes and they are so easy to follow along with. Even though I am not following the Paleo diet I do like the healthy options. Plus my cast iron is my favorite pan to cook in and I love having more ideas on how to use. Find this book here!
Ketogenic Mediterranean Diet:
With the simple program in this book, you are guaranteed to lose weight by eating a rich variety of whole foods that are high in fat, moderate in protein, and very low in carbs. The combination of these two proven approaches transforms the body into a fat-burning machine. The benefits of low-carbohydrate diets can’t be overstated. Studies increasingly point to their potential for preventing a variety of diseases, including Parkinson’s, diabetes, and some forms of cancer. Replacing carbohydrates with healthful fats reduces the risk of heart disease and has positive effects on insulin regulation and glycemic control.
I am currently on NutriSystem and we are allowed Flex meals, I love using this cookbook as inspiration for my flex meals. They offer a great deal of healthy options that really come in handy. You can find this book here!
Mental Well Being:
The Overwhelmed Brain takes a critical-thinking approach to self-improvement as it provides you with actionable ways to live a more authentic life. Popular life coach and podcaster Paul Colaianni helps you identify the roots of your obstacles so you can stop reinforcing your own negative motivation. He teaches you how to take action on your biggest dreams, goals, and values, thereby giving precedence to your needs. True happiness and self-love can only come from living in accordance with your authentic self. The Overwhelmed Brain shows how to break through the stream of negative thoughts and remove barriers to happiness. In the end you are empowered to take control over your decisions and discover your true self.
One way I am trying to be successful in all of my goals is learning to overcome anxiety and self-sabotage. This book really comes in handy and is key to all of the other goals I am currently working on. I have lost weight in the past and then gained it back due to self-sabotage so I am really trying to learn ways to avoid that. Find this book here!
College Bucket List:
It’s been said that the college years are the best years of your life. But what should you experience in those four years to really, truly, fully make it the time of your life? The College Bucket List has all the answers—and then some. Complete with 101 things to do before graduation day, this book offers fun ideas essential to any college experience, including the things to share on Snapchat (road trip selfies); the things not to tell the parents (late-night parties); and—of course—the things that are every student’s rite of passage (library all-nighters). Each bucket list item explains why it makes the list as well as advice and tips on how and when to accomplish it. Although not every suggestion in The College Bucket List will be right for every student, any young person heading off to college will appreciate the many creative ideas for enhancing their first years of freedom from mom and dad.
Even if you are no longer in college like me this book offer fun and adventure seeking ideas that will give you plenty of inspiration if you are trying to make your life more adventurous. Find this book here!
