If you are like me you want to keep the kiddos busy, outdoors, and being creative during the summer. I love spending time with them outdoors playing but I don’t have the budget to spend a ton on new games, equipment, toys, etc. So we decided to get outdoors today and mark an item off our Summer Bucket List and play with some sidewalk chalk that we got from Crayola. Crayola has been my go to brand as a kid and it’s still the brand I reach for when it comes to finding products for my kiddos. They have some super fun sidewalk chalk products in their line that are perfect for some Summer fun.
Crayola sidewalk chalk is super fun and the possibilities are endless. Let your kiddos imagination run wild, it’s a great way to build their creativity. We had a blast playing with their Duel-Ended Giant Chalk and the 64 count Sidewalk Chalk set.
The Duel-Ended giant chalks are great because they are nice and big and easy to hold onto. Plus you get two colors in one. They come in packs of two so you get four different colors in one package. Really easy to color and draw with and they are so big they will last all Summer.
If your kiddo loves sidewalk chalk then the Crayola 64 Count Sidewalk Chalk is perfect. It has 64 different colors and 8 of them are special effects. You get a huge variety so you can easily create a masterpiece.
5 Games to Play with Sidewalk Chalk
Super easy to draw out and easy to play. Just draw out a grid and number them. Throw a stone or beanbag or stick, whatever you can find. When you land on a two square row put one foot in each square if you land on a row with one square hop on one foot in the square. When you get to your stone pick it up without falling down and hop back. We love these classic games and it’s a great way to get the kids up and moving.
Who doesn’t love a fun game of tic-tac-toe. Now you can play it on the sidewalk with chalk. Just draw out a grid with 9 squares. One player is the X’s and one is the O’s. Take turns claiming squares and try to get 3 in a row either across, down, or diagonally.
Grab some friends and a ball. Draw out your four squares and play a quick game of four square. Pretty simple just bounce the ball in another player’s square, they must catch it before it bounces twice. If you miss or throw it outside the squares on your turn then you are out. Keep playing till there is one player standing. A four square tournament is a great way to spend a Summer day.
Spend some time creating a masterpiece. You can designate one person as the judge to give out an award to each drawing. Some ideas most creative, best use of color, or most unique.
Draw out a line and add funny instructions to complete along the way. The sillier the better. We drew a line all around the driveway and put things like hula dance, skip, hop on one foot, crawl, and tip toe. The kiddos had a great time coming up with silly things to make each other do and had a blast go through the course.
No matter what games you decide to play or if you decide to make up your own Crayola Sidewalk Chalk is a super fun way to get the kiddos off the tech, away from the TV, outside and having fun. Plus it is cost friendly for the parents. Just pick up a box of Sidewalk Chalk and you have instant fun that you can enjoy all day long.
