We are a streaming family, we decided to cut our cable out over a year ago and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. After receiving a $200 cable bill from our satellite company we decided no more. So we paid off what we owed and closed our account and we have been exploring the streaming world ever since. We have tried alot of different things to be able to watch the shows we like but one of our favorites is Roku. Roku now has a streaming stick that makes watching shows on any TV super easy. The best part about the streaming stick is that you can easily move it from TV to TV so if you are traveling and you want to be able to watch your favorite movies or shows you can take it with you. With Summer in full force at our house that means traveling more and the Roku is our favorite way to take our entertainment with us.
Roku streaming stick is super easy to set up. Just plug it into your TV using the HDMI component. Plus the streaming stick into a power supply and your are ready to go. The on screen instructions make the set up process super easy and simple. You will set up an account with Roku and in just a few simple steps you are streaming straight to your TV.
You can get all of your favorite streaming channels and services right on your TV in one place. They are really easy to set up and access. One of my favorite things about the Roku streaming stick compared to others is that they have a customizable menu. When you set up your account they will ask you what your top 10 channels are and those will be on your home screen. It makes them super easy to locate and navigate. We have tried other streaming products and it seems like their menus can be difficult to navigate so that was a huge plus for me. It’s straight forward, easy to find everything you love, and completely customizable to suit your needs. They have everything too. Netflix, Sling, Amazon, Hulu, and all the individual channel programs like HBO, TLC, and more. Just download the app then log in with your account information. The process is super fast and once you have it set up up then you are good to go. Even if you unplug it from one TV and plug into another your account information is saved which makes it perfect for summer travel.
When you get your box from Roku you will get a streaming stick, power cord with adaptor to plug in, remote, and batteries. I have to mention that I LOVE their remote. It’s so easy and simple. They have short cut buttons on the bottom of the remote that make it so easy to get to top streaming programs. They includ Netflix, Sling, Amazon, and Google Play. These are our top used programs and they make getting to your favorite apps so easy. We have an 8 year old and she likes to watch TV in her room but when we started streaming it was difficult for her to navigate the menus and find her cartoons. She know netflixs and can get to it but she hasn’t been able to figure out how to get to Sling to watch live shows on her favorite kid stations. So when we got the Roku stick we put it in her room. She can now easily just push the Netflix button or Sling button. I have everything signed in and set to her settings and she can find her shows in a jiffy. It’s so easy and much more user friendly for younger users or maybe people who struggle with tech.
If you are thinking about cutting the cable out of your life then Roku is a great way to go. Even if you still want your cable but you want a great on demand service Roku is great for that as well. As I mentioned we love ours for our daughter and we aslo take it with us for traveling. It’s so nice to have our streaming stick when we get to families homes or hotels (who don’t always have cable). It’s super easy to set up and a great way to sit back and relax and enjoy a movie or show with the family.
