Our Summer Bucket List has been super fun and kept us very busy all summer long. This week we decided to work on making the world a little brighter with a DIY planter box. We really wanted to plant some flowers and do a little gardening this summer. None of us are very good at that hobby so we decided a small planter box for the entire family would be a great place to start. I picked up a plain wooden box from Oriental Trading Company and the girls go to work on decorating it.
I don’t know about you but the crafter in me gets so giddy whenever I see a plain wood anything. The possibilities are so exciting. This planter is 12″ x 4″ x 4″. It comes assembled so no building involved. I put out paint and glass beads for the girls and let them have fun decorating. It was so much fun. I wonder if they had more fun decorating the box or gardening….
As you can see they got very creative and had a lot of fun creating their planter box. Once we had it decorated and it had time to dry we filled it up with dirt. I bought the girls some wild flowers to plant so we could see what grows. It’s been super hot this month here so we are watering it every day in hopes we see some sprouts soon! Wish us luck!
