Nutrisystem Week 50 Update:
Weight Loss this Week: 0 Total Weight Loss: -144.6
My Nutrisystem Journey:
Well, I was not very good over the holidays and even though I met my 150 pounds before Christmas I quickly lost it over the last two weeks. It was super hard to stay focused with so much going on, which I am not trying to use as an excuse but I can’t change it now so I’m not going to dwell on it. I have done really well all year so it’s my first major setback and I am just going to refocus and get back on track. I have two more weeks left until my 1 year anniversary so I am hoping to be back at 150 lost by then. We all have setbacks so I am just reminding myself that it was just a slip and I can get right back on track.
One of my biggest downfalls through the holidays was wanting to eat all my winter comfort foods that I love. I wanted to have all the stuff that I usually have during this time of year and made some bad choices. To fix that problem I spent some time when ordering this week to choose some of my favorite winter comfort foods from the Nutrisystem program. They have a bunch to choose from and they all taste great so I am going to correct my bad eating by having the items I love in a healthy way through Nutrisystem.
There is always that feeling of guilt when you mess up. The important thing is to not let guilt turn to shame which can really hold you back from success. So I am focusing on doing better in the future. There is nothing I can do about the mistakes I made the last two weeks so I am focusing on making the rest of this year great and having a strong start to next year. I will be working on my goals for next year over the next two weeks and updating you guys with my big anniversary post so keep an eye out. Also if you are looking to lose weight I’d love you to join me on my journey and share your tips, goals, and successes by commenting below!
Tips & Tricks:
As I mentioned above my biggest downfall was wanting comfort foods this winter. It’s so cold outside and I was wanting some yummy foods to stay warm with and made some bad choices. I wanted to have a healthier alternative that tastes great and will provide me with what I was missing without ruining my healthy choices. So I searched through the foods on Nutrisystem and found my top three favorite comfort foods from the program for this winter.
Hearty Beef Stew:
Sometimes nothing tastes better than a hearty bowl of stew made with chunks of tender beef, chunks of potatoes, tasty carrots, and peas. Brimming with flavor, you’ll think this dish has been slowly cooking for hours in your mother’s crock pot it’s that good. It’s one of my favorite meals. I like to add some wheat crackers to mine as a Smartcarb to really remind me of having a big pot of stew on a cold winter day. It’s also diabetes-friendly!
This hearty dinner is full of the Southwest flavors you crave. Four beans combine in a zesty tomato sauce accented with flavorful chili and spices for a taste that’s as satisfying as it is delicious. For a flavor boost, add a sprinkle of grated fat-free cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese. I love adding some fat-free sour cream, wheat crackers, or some yummy cheese to add to the flavor. It’s one of my favorite meals on the program for winter time. Really keeps you warm on those cold days.
Mac & Cheese with Turkey Sausage:
Dig into everyone’s favorite comfort food featuring tender pasta blended with savory turkey sausage and enveloped in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce so delicious you’ll forget it’s guilt-free! The turkey sausage on this makes it super hearty and filling. It’s the perfect winter comfort food on a cold winter day. Have your favorite Powerful protein with it like lean meats to make a very filling meal.
