Nutrisystem Week 44 Update:
Weight Loss this Week: -.6 Total Weight Loss: -138.0
My Nutrisystem Journey:
So this weekend was a tough one. It was my sister’s wedding and it was so hard with all the preparations and not being able to stick to my schedule I failed miserably at sticking to my Nutrisystem plan. I am thankful I didn’t gain any weight and tried to make good choices even though I was eating out all weekend. I also avoided sweets so that really helped. It’s just frustrating to have two slow weeks in a row. However, we did have a beautiful wedding and I was so happy that I felt healthier and was able to do so much more to help prepare. This time last year I wouldn’t have been any help, in fact, I probably would have made an excuse and not gone. It feels amazing to be able to attend events with my family and enjoy my time with them. So even though I really didn’t lose anything this week my previous hard work has really paid off.
With the wedding over now I’m looking at the holidays. I can not believe that Thanksgiving is this week. Where did the year go? After having two bad weeks I really need to do well this week and I know it will be difficult with all the food around. I shared last week my plan for desserts so I will be making up some yummy and diet-friendly treats this week and even volunteered to be in charge of the sweets to make sure there good options for me available.
Now I am working on figuring out some tips to avoid overeating or eating things I can’t have. I have looked all over to come up with tips to make sure I don’t blow my diet again this week. I still have 12 pounds to lose before Christmas to reach my goal I set for myself so I am going to work really hard throughout the next few weeks to get there.
Tips & Tricks:
Eat a Healthy Snack Before Thanksgiving Dinner:
To avoid overeating I plan to fill my tummy up with some healthy foods and snacks before I go to Thanksgiving dinner. Veggies, protein, and healthy carbs like fruit. So I am not tempted to fill up on foods that are not on my diet plan. When I sit down to eat if I am starving I tend to eat quickly and do not recognize when I am full until I have overeaten. Filling up on healthy choices will help me avoid this trap.
Make a Healthy Thanksgiving Dinner:
Avoid those unhealthy food options by just not having them available. Make healthy versions of your favorites. I have already looked up healthy options that I can have and stick to my diet plan for all of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes and desserts. The leaf has a ton of recipes and there are a lot of other resources out there to find recipes for your favorites.
Make a Healthy Family Activity Tradition:
If you do overeat a little then work it off. Start a tradition with your family to do something fun and active together. Play a family basketball or football game, go on a nature hike together, or do family yoga. Something to get everyone up and active in a group effort to maintain healthy living.
