Nutrisystem Week 35 Update:
Weight Loss this Week: -2.0 Total Weight Loss: -114.6
I have to say that I have been struggling with the lack of movement on the scale the last few weeks. I miss the weeks of losing 3 or 4 pounds every week. My weight loss has slowed to around 2 pounds a week, which I know is normal but I just miss the bigger weeks. It has left me feeling a little uninspired. This feeling is never good for me because it leads to negative thoughts and usually cheating on the program. So this week I’m finding ways to stay inspired while I keep going on my Nutrisystem program.
My Nutrisystem Journey:
So as I said this week has left me feeling a little low. I think it’s the combination of a few weeks without big numbers on the scale. I realize that weight loss is going to fluctuate and since I have already lost over 100 pounds that it may slow down a bit. However, as anyone with weight issues can tell you it’s hard when you stop losing. Especially if you are strictly following the program. You want to see results on the scale.
This week I am trying to inspire myself and find ways to keep my attitude positive when I am really feeling negative. Negativity always leads to bad things for me. I will end up cheating on my plan or want to give up altogether. That can not happen so I have to pull myself out of this funk. I’m always excited with any loss but it just seems to have slowed way down for some reason.
Instead of focusing on the diet I am going to try to focus on my attitude. I know there are way better benefits I have seen other than the weight loss. I am able to do more, I feel better, and my health has improved. So I want to keep going for those benefits and focus less on the scale and number. So I came up with some ideas to keep myself inspired while I’m waiting to break through this plateau.
Tips & Tricks:
Inspiration always helps me improve my attitude and stay positive. So I went on the search this week for ways to stay inspired and keep myself motivated to keep going. I looked all over and came up with three of my favorite ways to find inspiration.
Read Success Stories:
I love reading about other people who have been on the same journey as me and been successful. It tells me that I’m not alone. Plus, it proves that program works for other people and it can work for me. Whether they are using the same program as me or not I know that people can and do lose weight so I love reading and being inspired by other’s journeys. There are a million places to find these stories. There are a ton of bloggers out there like myself that I love to read. Another great place to find inspiring success stories is on the Nutrisystem page. They have a ton and I love reading about people using the same program as myself and how they did it successfully.
Make a Vision Board:
I know it might sound silly but this really works for me. I like crafts and love spending time being creative so making a vision board seemed like a great idea for me. I just grabbed a poster board and cut out pictures of things that inspire me. Pictures to represent my goals, where I want to be in the future, and what is important. I hung it up in my bathroom above my scale. This way when I step on the scale and it doesn’t say what I want I can see those inspirational images to keep me inspired.
Finally, I attend a small support group for weight loss. I find listening to the stories of others in the group is really helpful for keeping me inspired. There are all levels in one group which really helps. So there are people who have lost a lot and are close to reaching their goal who can share their struggles and how they overcame them. There are also people just starting out that share their hopes and what they are doing to get there. I find it all inspiring, to know I’m not alone and have support from people who have been through or are going through it themselves.
