Nutrisystem Week 9 Update:
Weekly Weight Loss:-2.0 Total Weight Loss: -32.8
When I started this journey I wasn’t really sure how I would do on the program. I always get worried when starting something new but I was quickly surprised at how much I loved the program and how successful it was for me. Not just in the area of weight loss but also feeling better, doing more, and enjoying life with my kiddos and husband. When I started as a Nutrisystem blogger I was approved for three months so I thought my journey would be coming to end soon but recently found out I was approved to continue for another three months so I can keep working on my goal. I am so excited about this and can’t wait to keep working on my weight loss goals. This week I thought it would be fun to celebrate some of my success. It’s always important to celebrate as you go to keep yourself motivated.
My Nutrisystem Story:
If you have been following my journey then you may recall that I am morbidly obese so I have a lot to lose. My weight was not just a little problem it was a large problem that had taken over my quality of life. I haven’t been able to do a lot of the things I used to, it had prevented me from being able to walk for very long, and created a lot of insecurity in me that pretty much kept me inside most of the time. I hated leaving the house thinking someone might make fun of me, stare at me, or worse I might fall or get hurt. So other then picking up the kids (which I could stay in my car for) I just stayed at home.
Now that I have been on Nutrisystem I have lost over 30 pounds. I am feeling so much better already. I didn’t think 30 pounds would make sure a big difference in my life but it really has. I have a ton more energy and I find myself wanting to go out and do things where before I would get excited if I didn’t have to leave the house all day. I have just started adding walking back into my exercise routine this week. My blood sugar is more stable and my blood pressure has been in the normal range since I started the program. Overall I just feel so much better like I’m getting my life back which is so exciting.
I am celebrating my successes this week. I am in love with the cute little bears that Nutrisystem sends us every time we lose 10 pounds. They are so exciting to get. My 30 pound bear is on the way so he didn’t get here in time for this post but here are my 10 and 20 pound bears. It is kind of funny I get so excited about stuffed bears but I love them and I keep them displayed on my cabinet. It’s a great reminder of how far I have come. I recently just finished stage 1 on the workout routine I have been doing on live exercise. I am so excited every time I get to check off one of the boxes that I completed an episode. I have also made myself a walking chart to mark my progress. I’m such a visual learner that I think seeing these successes really helps me stay on track. Finally I have decided to share my before and after photo (please no rude comments because it is difficult for me to share). I can finally see a difference after losing 30 pounds and I am so excited about that.
Tips & Tricks:
I have had to rethink how I celebrate things. I usually celebrate with foods so now I am trying to find new ways to celebrate. I cam up with a list of my five favorite ways to celebrate my weight loss successes.
1. Make a Weight Loss Wish List
I put together a list of things that my weight has held me back from or I have avoided because of my weight so I plan to do these things as I meet my weight loss goals. It will be a fun way to not only celebrate but do new things.
2. Buy Yourself Something You Enjoy
I like to buy myself something for one of my hobbies like a coloring book or something for my journaling. Whatever your passion is it’s a great way to celebrate a success that doesn’t involve food.
3. Save for a Trip
Think of a trip you would like to take and decide on a budget. Divide that by how many pounds you have to lose and put that money away every time you lose a pound. So for example if you want to go on a $500 trip and you have 100 pounds to lose then put away $5 for every pound you lose. At the end of your journey you will have enough to take a big trip and celebrate.
4. Buddy Up with a Weight Loss Friend to Reward Yourself
Do you have a weight loss buddy? I recently did this with a friend where we both went out and made up 5 envelopes and put a small $5 gift of some kind (like a gift card or a bracelet) when we each reach our goal the other will give them an envelope. It’s fun because it’s a surprise and it helps to keep your motivated.
5. Share Your Success With Others
I like to share my success with my friends and family. I also love just sharing on my blog and social media. My hope isn’t to brag about my weight loss but to hopefully share with others who might be struggling and may see my post and think if she can do it so can I. I also just love to make new buddies either online or in the real world to have as support for my own journey so by sharing I get to meet a lot of new people.
