Nutrisystem Week 26 Update:
Weight Loss this Week: -3.2 Total Weight Loss: -92.6
Wow, I so truly feeling loved and blessed this week. I have had so many readers, friends, family, and even complete strangers ask me about my weight loss this week. I have had so many thoughtful comments and words of encouragement from everyone around me. It has really helped me stay motivated on this journey with Nutrisystem. One thing I noticed is that people have a lot of questions about my weight loss and the Nutrisystem program. So this week for my blog post I thought I would do a little Q&A with some of the common questions I get.
My Nutrisystem Journey:
This week has been so laid back and relaxed without my kids being here. They took off to visit their grandparents in Texas and have been spending their days at the beach. One thing as a mom I notice immediately when my kids are gone is how quiet it is when they are gone. I tend to get really bored and want to fill my time with snacking and eating when I get bored. So I have really been fighting those urges to eat things I shouldn’t this week. It has definitely gotten easier though since I have been on the program for so long now. I find it’s not that hard to put it out of my mind pretty quickly.
I met another milestone this week 90 pounds gone! I am so close to 100 pounds! You guys have no idea how huge that is to me to be able to say I have lost 100 pounds will just be amazing. I actually have a few big milestones coming up hopefully in the next few weeks. I am hoping to hit 100 pounds soon, my quarter goal this time is 115 pounds, and at 125 I will hit one of the biggest milestones I will be in the 300’s again. I have not been in that category in a long time so I am beyond excited.
I have started noticing some little changes that make me so excited about this journey. The weight loss is always great and so motivating but the little things really add up and make a big difference to me. I noticed that I can now walk further. Prior to starting Nutrisystem, I couldn’t walk very long at all, now I am able to stand a walk much longer than before. All of my clothing is very baggy on me, I think I will need to go shopping soon for some smaller clothing. I have a more positive attitude. I want to go out and do things, I feel happier in general, and I’m more optimistic about being able to accomplish my goals. All these things have really added up for me and made my successes seem even sweeter.
Tips & Tricks:
Since I have been doing this program for over 6 months and I’ve lost over 90 pounds people have really started to notice. I get compliments, words of encouragement and lots of questions about Nutrisystem and how I’m losing the weight. So I have put together a few of the most common questions and my answers. Of course, these are just my answers based on my experience on the program and are not official answers from Nutrisystem.
Question 1: How is the food?
This is probably the most common question I get. What does the food taste like? Is it any good? Honestly, this was what I was most worried about when I started Nutrisystem. I am a very picky eater and I was scared I would not like the food and I’d starve to death or not be able to do the program. However, I went into it with an open mind and so far I have not found any of their food that I don’t like. Everything I’ve tried I like. Some of it I like more than others but I can honestly say there hasn’t been anything on the plan that I just disliked. The closest I came to not liking something was the white bean chili but it was only because of the spice level and it was just too spicy for me. I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy. I have my favorites for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and I like to order several of those. You also get to mix in flex meals, fresh veggies and fruits, and extras so you can get some variety. Overall though I love their food and it really is very tasty. Many times I don’t really feel like I’m even on a diet at all because they taste so good.
Question 2: Do you get enough to eat?
Usually, question 1 is followed up with question 2. Once they know the food tastes good then they want to know what the serving sizes are like and if I’m hungry all the time. What I like about Nutrisystem though is that you get eat frequently which really helps with your hunger level. You start with breakfast, then a mid morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner, and finally a night time snack. So as you can see even though you are eating less than you usually might, you are eating so often it helps to keep you from feeling hungry. I won’t lie there are times, especially at night because I stay up so late that I feel some hunger pains but I just drink some water and power through. Losing weight is life or death for someone my size, so I just tell myself it’s just some hunger pains it will pass and they do. It gets better as you get used to the diet. When I first started it was worse but now that I’ve been on the program for over 6 months I don’t struggle as much with hunger. My body has really gotten used to the new eating habits.
Question 3: Do you exercise a lot?
Obviously, I’m losing weight the healthy way. So no quick fixes. On Nutrisystem, you will eat healthy food options in healthy portion sizes and more activity and exercise is recommended. I am not big on exercise, prior to starting Nutrisystem I never really left the house or couch much. So I have started slow and still managed to lose 90 pounds. So it’s not like you have to exercise 8 hours a day. I simply walk and try to be more active. That works for me and I don’t feel like I have to over exert myself. To me, any activity is better then what I was doing before. I can only speak for myself but small changes have made a big difference for me.
Question 4: Is it a hard program to follow?
As with all lifestyle changes, there are been ups and downs. I won’t lie, it’s not always easy. However, I have tried just about every program out there at some time or another and Nutrisystem by far has been the easiest way for me personally to lose weight. The Nutrisystem foods make meal prep and portion size really easy for me. I don’t have to think about it, just eat my meals and I am good to go. I keep the supplemental foods I add into the program simple and easy things I can prep ahead of time to make them grab and go as well. The weight just seems to keep coming off. I follow the plan as suggested by Nutrisystem and it works. They have counselors that you can ask questions if you have problems or struggle with something in the plan. There are also tons of resources out there from other bloggers, the Numi app, and Nutrisystem materials they provide. I always feel like if I have a problem or don’t understand something I have a lot of places I can go to figure it out.
Question 5: Do you feel deprived of anything?
I really don’t. The Nutrisystem food is really good and they have a large variety. In the Nutrisystem foods, I can have pizza, ice cream, burgers, and more. They have just about everything really. I also like that you can fit in flex meals into our plan. Now when I first read about flex meals I was equating that with cheat meals. That’s not what it is at all. You still have to stick to their guidelines on what foods to eat but it allows you to add in some different things to your menu so you don’t get bored. They even have an eating out guide so you can go out to eat and stick to the plan. So I really don’t feel like there is anything I just can’t have. I personally do not allow myself to eat sweets but that’s because I can’t only have a little I have to eat the entire cake or pie or whatever. I have no self-control and it’s better to not have any at all but that’s just a personal choice. The good thing though is that the Nutrisystem snacks are really really good and I feel like I am eating the real thing when I have them. My favorite is their ice cream, they are so yummy.
I hope you find these helpful if you are thinking about doing the program or just curious. If you have more questions you would like me to answer let me know in the comments, maybe I’ll do another one of these in the future.
