Nutrisystem Week 14 Update:
Weight Loss this week: -2.8 Total Weight Loss: -51.0
I have officially lost 50 pounds!!!! I can’t believe it after only 14 weeks I am down 50 pounds. I was positive when I started this but I never expected to have so much success so quickly. I still can’t believe how quickly it has come off and I can still eat foods I love. I have started adding some photos of my meals on Nutrisystem to my social media (be sure to follow me using the buttons above) and you would be surprised by what I get to eat every day on Nutrisystem. I think one thing that has really helped me be successful though is staying positive throughout the process and encouraging myself with positive messages.
My Nutrisystem Story:
Three and a half months into the program and it has almost become second nature to me at this point. It really feels like a new lifestyle rather then a diet. It took me awhile to get to this point, it was not an overnight process but I really feel like the diet has become a habit for me that I no longer even have to think about.
I have had a few situations come up over the last few weeks and I didn’t even think about cheating, it didn’t cross my mind. I thought I would have problems and spent time preparing but I really didn’t have any problems at all when the events got here. I’m sure it was because I prepared ahead of time but I really feel like I have hit my stride with the plan. In fact I can’t image not having Nutrisystem everyday.
Since I have officially hit my first big goal of 50 pounds I plan to do something to celebrate my success. So make sure to read the blog next week because my post will be all about celebrating 50 pounds lost and I have decided on a really fun way to celebrate, something I have wanted to do for a very long time but put off. I can’t wait to share it.
Tips & Tricks:
If you read my blog then you know that I have a lot of weight to lose to reach my goal weight. I have not disclosed my weight (yet) but I have a very long road to get to where I want to go. So sometimes seeing how much I look at how much I have to lose I can get discouraged. One way I have kept myself on tracking and making progress is by using positive affirmations. Another tool I used daily when I was a counselor to help my clients, I have adopted it as a strategy to make my weight loss journey successful and it has worked great.
What Are Affirmations:
Affirmations can be a variety of things, there isn’t really a right or wrong affirmation. When you think of positive affirmations just think of messages you give yourself to promote success, encourage and motivate yourself to reach your goals. Again these can be used for any goal, not just weight loss. Short little messages that keep your moving in the right direction.
How Do You Come Up With Affirmations:
As a counselor I learned how to help my clients make positive affirmations so it was pretty easy to apply it to my weight loss goals. There are a few things to remember when you come up with your own affirmations.
- Keep them positive
- Keep them short and to the point
- Keep them focused on your goals
- Eliminate negative words like no, don’t, stop
- Use the regularly
How Do You Use Affirmations:
I use mine a variety of ways. My number one way to use them though is to write them out in places I will see them daily. I keep a detailed planner with all my various tasks that I look at about 500 times a day it seems like. I like to write out my affirmations in my planner, when I glance at my schedule and to do list I also get a great boost of positive vibes. Another great way to use affirmations is to repeat them out loud to yourself. I like to do this when I’m struggling. I also have anxiety and my number one way to overcome an anxiety attack is to repeat affirmations to myself out loud until I feel better. Same thing works for weight loss goals, if I am struggling with making a healthy choice I’ll just repeat affirmations like “you can do this” or “you got this” to myself. No matter how your use your affirmations as long as you are keeping it positive you are more likely to be successful with your goals.
