Nutrisystem Week 12 (3 month) Update:
Weekly Weight Loss: -4.0 Total Weight Loss: -44.0
I just finished up my first three month commitment to Nutrisystem. I could not be happier with my decision to get back control of my weight and life and Nutrisystem as been the perfect program for me. I have had so much success on the program including weight loss, better health, and being able to be more active. I am continuing with another three month commitment but I am excited to celebrate my progress so far.
My Nutrisystem Story:
This is the last week of my three month commitment as a blogger for Nutrisystem, it feels like I made a major accomplishment in completing this series. I have learned so much about myself and made so much progress. I have lost way more weight then I ever expected to. I expected to lose weight but had no idea I would lose 44 pounds. I am blown away on a daily basis that the weight just keeps coming off. I have also become more active which was the main goal I had when I started, I am even walking again. I also feel so much better, I have energy again and I don’t feel sick like I did before.
So what is next? As many of you know I have been approved to continue blogging for Nutrisystem so I am committed to another three months. I can’t wait to see how it goes and what progress I make. My goals for this next three months are to continue on the diet (no cheating), continue to improve my health (it would be great to get a good checkup from my doctor), and to continue losing weight. I hate to put a number on my weight loss goal so I’m not going to do that but as long as I keep losing then I will be very happy.
Even though I made it through the three month with no cheating on the diet I have had my challenges. This week in particular (today actually) I have a double birthday party for my two daughters. So they requested a pizza party and of course I had to schedule it for them. We will be having pizza tonight (not me but them) and there will be cake, cookies, and cupcakes at the party. I am so worried about my will power but I have come up with some strategies to stay on track. I’ll let you know next week how it goes.
Tips & Tricks:
Since I have this birthday party coming up I decided to put together some tips for surviving celebrations while you are dieting. I will be using these tonight for sure to try to get through my party.
Since I know where we are eating I looked up the menu online so I could get calorie counts and know what they have that might fit in my diet. The place we are going actually has a really nice salad bar that I plan to utilize to stay on my diet. I even discovered that Nutrisystem has a dining out guide that is very helpful and gave me suggestions on what to eat at different restaurants. I can even have a piece of thin crust cheese pizza and stay on track.
Eat Before The Party:
So you are not tempted to overeat while you are at the party eat a snack before you leave. If you are full you might be less likely to want to eat during the party. I plan on having my regular Nutrisystem snack before I leave for the party to avoid making decision based on hunger.
Take Some Fruit or Healthy Sweet:
If you are worried about cakes or sweets then take a Nutrisystem snack that is sweet (they have everything from cakes, cookies, cupcakes, ice cream). They taste great too so you can stay on your plan and still have something sweet. Or if you are not in Nutrisystem then take along some fruit or a healthy version of sweets there are so many recipes out there.
Drink Lots of Water:
Water always fills me up so I plan to keep water on hand to keep myself feeling full and reduce cravings. I am going to avoid pop and drinks so that I don’t have any empty calories. If you really want to have something besides water true a sugar free flavor packet or fruit infused water.
If you do end up going off your diet plan then forgive yourself and get back on track in the morning. I don’t plan to do this but if it happens I am not going to let it be the end of my dieting.
What are your tips for surviving parties and celebrations?
