Nutrisystem Week 10 Update:
Weekly Weight Loss:-3.8 Total Weight Loss:-36.6
It seems like time is just flying by since I started this journey. Even with a few pounds coming off each week it just keeps adding up and before I knew it I had a significant loss. I am still surprised at how much I have lost on my journey so far and I have started to get really excited about how much more I can lose. I am really proud of my progress and the hard work I have put in so far as well as my commitment to keep going. This week I am reflecting on my Nutrisystem journey, what I have learned and put together of my top five benefits of the program.
My Nutrisystem Story:
If you have been reading my story then you know that I committed to being a Nutrisytem blogger for three months. I have been following the program for 10 weeks now and I feel amazing. I have always been overweight my entire life and even though I had seen some success from other diets nothing long term or consistent. With Nutrisystem I have lost consistently over the last 10 weeks about 2-4 pounds each week on average. I have also noticed a lot of changes off the scale like more energy, feeling better, and being able to be more active and do more. This is my 10th week out of 12 from my original commitment so I wanted to take some time to reflect on my journey and the changes I’ve made.
Before Nutrisystem I was eating out just about everyday. I would have fast food for lunch probably 5-6 days a week and sometimes we would eat out for dinner too. Sweets were my downfall as well. I had to have sweets everyday (or so I thought). I don’t know for sure how many calories a day I was eating but I’m sure it was a lot. It kind of seemed like I was always eating. The sugar and fast food just made me crave more and if felt like I was always hungry and looking for something to eat. Now that I am on Nutrisystem I eat consistently on a schedule and eat foods that are portion controlled and healthy for me. The change is amazing. I feel better, I’m not having sugar crashes anymore, I’m not tired all the time, a lot of my health issues have started getting better, and my energy level is through the rough. Before it felt like I slept all day now I don’t feel tired at all during the day. I can get out and exercise and walk more. I have even begun exercising again. I am really impressed at how my mood, energy, activity level, and health have improved in just 10 weeks.
One of the biggest changes for me is how I look at food. Before Nutrisystem food was something I ate when I was bored, feeling upset or stressed, and something I indulged in on a daily basis. On Nutrisystem I have learned that food is only for fueling my body. I shouldn’t look at it as something to make me happy because it was making me so unhappy. I might be happy in the few minutes that I was eating but shortly after the guilt set in and the effects on my body were evident every minute of everyday. Now I look at food as fuel. I have portion controlled meals so I know how much to eat. Even the additional snacks I measure out to make sure I am eating the correct amounts. I look at food as fuel not enjoyment and over the last 10 weeks I have been able to maintain the diet and consistently lost weight every week. It seems like I should have done this a really long time ago and not waited for the problem to get so bad but I’m glad I’m making the changes now. It is very worth it. I also recently found out I get to continue my Nutrisystem journey for another three months. So I can’t wait to see how much progress I can make by the end of my sixth month. It’s all very exciting.
Tips & Tricks:
I decided to put together my five favorite benefits from my Nutrisytem journey. Obviously every person is different so these may not apply to you but these are the things that I enjoy from my experience with the program.
1. Proper Nutrition
I know that when I eat the Nutrisystem foods and follow their guidelines on what to have for snacks that I am getting proper nutrition everyday. They have an organized program with great food choices that allow me to eat healthy and maintain my ability to lose weight in a healthy way.
2. Portion Control
I love that portion control is factored into the program. The foods that you get from Nutrisystem are the perfect serving size. If you are like me you were used to just eating however much you wanted. Even if that was an entire bag of chips or entire pizza. So with Nutrisystem I can learn was a normal portion size is and I know that is all I can have. It really helps me control how much I am eating.
3. The Structure
I am big on planning and structure so I love the structure of Nutrisystem. I use their Numi app and booklets that come with my program to keep track of my foods. I write everything down so I can be accountable. I like that they split the meals up into six small meals and I have set myself a routine on when I eat each day that has kept me on track and made the program easy.
4. The Support
I am blown away with the amount of support I get from Nutrisystem every week. I have mentioned a few times that you have a counselor on the program that you can ask question if you need to. They also offer a lot of support and encouragement. I talk to my counselor every week and she is so supportive of my progress.
5. The Food
If you have been following my progress then you know that I love the Nutrisystem foods. I still find it hard to believe that I can eat like I get to on Nutrisystem and still lose weight. They have everything you could ever want on Nutrisystem. I get to eat pizza, hamburgers, ice cream, pasta, even pancakes. I have tried a million different programs and lots of different program with food and Nutrisystem is by far the best. They food tastes just like the real thing every single time. I don’t know how they do it but it’s amazing. Which makes the program really easy.
If you are Nutrisystem what benefits have you experienced?
