Day two of summer break and we are making homemade playdough. My kiddos love playdough and will play with it for hours. It’s a great way to get them away from the electronics and creating. I love activities that promote being artistic in any way and making playdough is so easy and fun.
The Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 Cup of water
1 Tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
1 Tablespoon of Cream of Tarter
1/2 Cup of Salt
Food Coloring
1 Cup of Flour
Directions:
In a saucepan mix together the water, oil, cream of tartar, salt, and food coloring. Heat it until it is warm and remove from heat. Add the flour and knead until mixed completely. Let cool.
The cream of tartar makes it stay good for 6 months so you can store them in an airtight container and have playdough to play with all summer long. It’s great to put in a zip lock bag and take with you on trips as well. Really fun and inspires their creativity.
