I have a kiddo heading off on her own this school year so we have been picking up a few college apartment must-haves as well. Bulbhead.com has a ton of great items that will make dorm-life a little easier. One of my daughter’s favorites is the Flipwich. It’s a copper pan that has two places you press together to make amazing sandwiches and foods. It’s made of the great copper pan technology so it’s non-stick and it’s really durable and easy to use.
The pan is about the size of a sandwich, so it’s great for a small apartment because it doesn’t take up much space. It’s single serving cooking which is great. If your kiddo is allowed to have a hot plate these are perfect for heating up a warm meal between classes or for late night study sessions. The design is super smart. They put two plates together with a long handle. You can secure the two plates together with the latch on the handle so it won’t fly open when you flip it. It makes great sandwiches but also other foods like desserts or hot dogs. We even made eggs in ours.
The copper technology is awesome for kids in a dorm room because nothing sticks. It’s really easy to clean even if you have limited cleaning supplies. Even burnt on cheese doesn’t stick. Just make sure to season the pan first (directions in the booklet).
Makes the perfect grilled cheese with perfect grill marks every time. They include a little recipe book with it as well to find some yummy recipes. It’s the perfect idea for kiddos headed to the campus this fall.
