We snuck in a super fun Family Game Night this week to play a really fun and fast-paced game from Blue Orange Games called Fast Flip Pizza. If you like card games you are going to love this one. It’s quick and will really keep you on your toes as you search pizza slices for toppings and try to be the first to call out the right answers.
Fast Flip Pizza:
Fast Flip Pizza is a really fun card game that is all about speed. It’s easy to play but you have to be quick with your answers to beat the other players and win the game. It’s a fun way to learn some great skills like problem-solving, quick thinking, matching, counting, and math skills. So as a mom, I give this game a thumbs up.
In the package you will find:
1 deck of Fast Flip Pizza cards
Who Would Enjoy This Game:
Fast Flip Pizza is designed for ages 5 and up and 2-4 players. It’s really easy gameplay so it’s great for some younger kiddos. My youngest is 8-years-old and she had a blast playing it. It’s more challenging than you think because you are racing against other players so even older players will have a lot of fun with it because of the competition factor. It’s a quick game so you can easily play a game even when you have little time to play. It’s also small and easy to travel with so it’s great to take with you on trips.
Is It Fun:
Yes, we had a blast playing it. It’s really fun going head-to-head with each other and trying to answer the quickest. So we had a lot of laughs and fun when it came to trying to beat each other. It was a great way to spend a slow Wednesday afternoon before dinner and homework started. Plus, there is a lot of educational value in the game so I like it as a parent that they can get in a little extra math practice while we are having fun.
Gameplay is very easy. To set it up shuffle your deck of cards. Put them face down on the table so everyone can see and reach them easily. The side that looks like a pizza with various toppings should be face down.
Now, you will take turns flipping over one card. When you flip a card you will look at the stack and the topping or number at the top and then search the pizza you just flipped over to get the answer. If you flip over a topping you will look to see how many times that topping appears on the pizza and call it out. If you flip over a number you will find the topping that appears that number of times and call out the topping. It seems easy but be careful, sometimes when you are in a hurry you miss 1 or 2.
In this example, you would call out 2 because there are 2 green peppers on the pizza. If you are the quickest to call out the correct answer you keep the card that was flipped over. Keep playing until you only have one card left to be flipped over. Everyone will count the cards they have collected. The person with the most cards wins.
No concerns with this one. It was a ton of fun and has some great educational elements.
