We have not had a Family Game Night in a while so when we that Pressman Toys had a new escape room game themed around one of our favorite characters MacGyver we had to try it out. We love escape rooms and have been to several of them. So we were excited to try an at-home version. Plus, who doesn’t love MacGyver?
MacGyver The Escape Room Game:
MacGyver the Escape Room Game features five different escape room challenges. You will follow along with adventures with MacGyver trying to help him by solving puzzles to save others. The puzzles lead you throughout the journey, you have to solve the previous puzzle to get to the next one. Using the free website that compliments the game you will input the answers to continue throughout the escape room process. Lots of interactive fun and a great way to tune your puzzle-solving skills. Escape Rooms are great fun for the family, there are a lot of locations for you to experience the real thing, if you are interested in finding out more, you might want to check out this website.

Who Would Enjoy This Game:
Designed for ages 12 and up, this is really a game for teens and adults. Designed for 1-4 players. We really enjoyed it and found it challenging. Our 9-year-old was not old enough to really participate. She enjoyed helping as much as she could though and we had a lot of fun as a family. If you love puzzles and escape rooms though you will love this. The puzzles are fun and difficult. You can choose the difficulty level though which helps. It’s a great party/family game.
Is It Fun:
We had a blast playing it. We really enjoy puzzles and game that challenge your mind so it was really fun. We did the medium difficulty giving us an hour to complete it. We had to use a few hints throughout the two that we completed. It’s a great way to work together as a family/team and spend a really fun hour together.
The concept is pretty simple. You will use a free website to guide you through the challenges. Simply navigate to the site and choose your puzzle and difficulty level. It will tell you what to do so just follow the directions to solve each puzzle. Each puzzle requires you to enter an answer on the website to move on to the next. The website also keeps track of your progress. There are five different challenges and they have to be completed in order starting with number 1.
The only concern I have with this game is that once you complete the puzzle you can’t redo it. So once played the game is over. Wish there was a way to reset the games to play over again. Other than that we really enjoyed the puzzles and the game and had fun playing it.
