Tonight for Family Game Night we played a super fun game called You Guessed It by Peaceable Kingdom. You Guessed It is a fun spin on the classic 20 questions. Full of guessing fun that kept us entertained all night long. For our snack, we decided to check an item off our Summer fun bucket list and had a pizza party.
You Guessed It is a fun take on the classic game 20 questions. I remember my daughter playing this with her best friend all the time when they were younger so she really loved this game even as a teenager now. We had a blast trying to figure out what each person’s word was. It is a great game for getting your kids thinking and figuring things out. It was full of laughs as we tried to figure out the clues and made some silly guesses.
In the box you will find:
1 Deck of You Guessed It cards
Who Would Enjoy This Game:
This game is designed for ages 7 and up. My 8 year old struggled a little bit on things that she didn’t know, some of the people she wasn’t able to guess because she didn’t know the person. Overall though we really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun playing it. You can make it was the perfect difficulty level for kids and adults. It’s great to find a game the entire family can enjoy at all age levels. You can also play it with 3 or more players so you can play it with a large group. It’s a really fun party game, the more people you have playing the more fun it is.
Gameplay is super simple. You simply set out the deck of cards where everyone can reach them to set up the game. It’s helpful if everyone sits around the table but not necessary. You can also set it up where the person answering the questions stands up in front of everyone if you have a large group.
Choose who will be going first. That person will draw a card and choose which word they want to use. It will be a who, what, where or wild. Go around the table and take turns asking yes or no questions. The person with the card will answer each question with either yes or no. No other hints! Continue asking questions until someone guesses your word. If you are able to do it in 20 questions or less then you win and that person can take the next card and choose a word. If you are unable to guess it before 20 questions then you lose, the last person to guess chooses a card and picks a word. We just kept guessing until we got it and didn’t really pay any attention to counting our questions but if you want to stay true to the 20 questions then you might have someone designated to keep track of how many questions have been asked.
I don’t really have any concerns. I love games that get the kids using their brains and figuring things out. The only problem we had was with my 8-year-old not knowing some of the words but we just tried to choose things we thought she could guess to keep it fair. So if you are playing with younger players you might be mindful of that.
