Are your kiddos fans of Elmo? My grandkids love him and everything with Elmo on it is a huge hit so I was super excited to find this really fun Elmo’s World Hide & Seek game. The best part is there are so many different ways to play that it’s really a game for all ages even kids as young as 1. Since my grandson is almost 1 and my granddaughter is 4 I thought this would be the perfect game to keep them both entertained when the weather gets cooler and we will be inside more this fall.
The game includes a talking Elmo that makes sounds during the game so he is a little easier to find and a deck of cards. The Elmo requires 2 AAA batteries that are not included. They also include a booklet with different variations of how to play and benefits for children at different age levels. As I mentioned, they have designed various levels of play based on your kiddos age. I love that you can play this with young kids, it’s so hard to find games that you can play with kids younger than 3 or 4.
For older kids, you can hide Elmo and then give them three of the included cards (one showing an image of where you hid him) and let them run to each location until they find Elmo. My 8-year-old even had fun with this one. If you have more than one player it can be a race to see who finds him first. Almost like a scavenger hunt with Elmo as the prize.
If you have younger kids 2-3 years old you can use the cards and show them an image with Elmo. Or very young children you can hide Elmo under a blanket and turn him on so he makes noise. It helps them understand that just because they can not see Elmo doesn’t mean he isn’t here. Then reveal him like peek-a-boo. My grandson loved this. With so many different ways to play at different skill levels, this game makes a great game to play on a cool or rainy Fall day.
