Yesterday we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters in Wichita, Kansas. We went to see them last year and had so much fun when we heard they were coming to our area again we couldn’t wait to see them a second time. I have to say they did not disappoint. We had a blast and it provided us with a family-fun filled afternoon on a cold and rainy Sunday.
We started out our afternoon with magic passes. So we got to attend an early event before the game. They have all the players set up on the court with different stations. You can see the players, get autographs, take photos, learn how to dunk, and much more. It’s a ton of fun and well worth the extra ticket price to get an up-close experience with the players. We even got to meet Globie, he is our favorite.
After the magic pass, we found our seats so we could enjoy the game. The Harlem Globetrotters are so much fun, they put on a great show that is full of laughs and entertainment. They have so many fun antics while playing, you will be laughing the entire show. They add in lots of fun games and even call out members of the audience to interact with them on the court.
There is always tons of dancing and interaction every time we see them. They really do a great job of making everyone feel like they are a part of the game. Even if you don’t have floor seats, they come all the way up into the stands and interact with audience members the entire game. It’s a lot of fun even if you have seen them before. We did notice they did do some of the same jokes that they did when we saw them last year but since they use the audience the joke takes on new meaning based on who they use from the audience. Always fun and fresh entertainment.
It’s not all fun and games, these guys can really play basketball. Along with all the laughs you get to see some really great talent. Tons of dunking, tricks, and amazing skills. My kids were amazed by the talent and playing by the Globetrotters. They are amazing.
Along with their players, you will also be entertained by the amazing Globie their mascot. He is so much fun and loves sitting on peoples laps! He can dance and even his big brother Big G makes an appearance with his crazy dance moves. The captain is Big Easy and he loves to do his signature dance moves for the crowd.
We had a blast, if you are looking for something fun to do with the family I highly suggest seeing a Harlem Globetrotter game if they are in your area. They are doing their world tour right now so make sure to check their site for local shows.
