October 10th is World Mental Health day. Since I had a long career in the mental health field before I retired and became an at-home mom it has always been important to me to continue to spread the word about the importance of mental health and treatment. I wanted to share on this important day some information about digital addiction that I recently found and related to. I don’t know about you but it seems like I am always on some kind of digital tech and so are the kids, I often find myself worrying about the effects of all this tech use. The internet is obviously an important part of my life and that requires me to be online a lot throughout the day but I have always wondered what things I should be aware of when it comes to having too much time on digital media.
I recently found a new cell phone called Palm. At Palm, they are taking steps to understand the key elements of digital addiction and have created a phone that will keep you connected but not consumed. There has been lots of research that have gone into this phone and the benefits are showing results for its users. I recently found a great infographic about how tech use affects our mental health from infancy throughout our adulthood. It has some great information so I wanted to share it with you.
There is tons of great information in this infographic and I hope you find it helpful. If you are looking for more information about digital addiction and the Palm phone visit them on their site Palm.com.
